Modern Cottage Garden, London

The unusual shape of this urban cottage garden called for some creative design solutions. An oval lawn was designed to maximise the space for the children to play on. The path hugs the edge of the lawn leading to the garden office, which makes good use of the triangular corner of the garden. Carefully positioned trees provide a sense of privacy and seclusion. Brick walls lend support to climbing clematis, roses and tall airy plants. Simple modern concrete planters with rhododendrons and pines add a touch of formality to the terrace.
