Contemporary Town Garden

This is a modern family garden. Folding/sliding doors open up the entire width of the house to a limestone garden terrace. The client wished to create spaces for entertaining and relaxing and to enhance the views from the new rear extension. The garden is divided into two geometric lawns, one circular and one square, edged with stone and separated by a low offset wall – also designed for sitting. A bold water feature provides a handsome focus for the terrace – although the family dog considers it to be a custom-built drinking bowl. Scented flowers in terrace-level beds and wide steps lead into the garden through the lawns to a prettily painted summerhouse.
